Show A Buffalo at Large. At 5 o'clock yesterday morning officer Robinson reported at the Police Station that he had seen a strange animal as large as a horse, and had horns, in North Portland, and was not a deer or a moose. . Several other officers saw it on , their way home, but viewed it from a j distance, so as to be handicapped in case I it was a trial of speed between man and animal. The animal was a buffalo, belonging be-longing to L. F. Gardner. It has been kept in a corral on Seventeenth street between D and E. but escaped early yesterday yes-terday morning. Poundmaster Wilmer and six assistants mounted and started j on a search for the wanderer, and after a chase that lasted three hours finally captured him in the bottom land near eidler's mill.
