Show TO BE DISCONTINUED. The City Council of San Francisco have passed a resolution to print an order making it a misdemeanor to continue holding the sand lot . meetings. This move, although it comes rather late, will do much to aid California in setting the Chinese question before the country in a proper light. The people of the country have looked upon the opinions and methods advocated by the sand lot orators ora-tors as expressing the sentiments of California Cali-fornia upon the Chinese question. The sand lot orators have treated the Chinese question as though the Chinese were enemies of mankind and that too get rid of Xheiii any way was perfectly legitimate. Whatever may be the failings and shortcomings short-comings of the Chinese, and however much their presence in the United State may complicate the labor question,, etill the Chinese have their rights, and it is the duty of the Government to see that they are protected in those rights. They came to this country with the permission of the Government, and when they are here they mu3t be "protected in life and property, whether their presence isigree-able isigree-able and desirable or not. ' The sand lot orators, and all who subscribe to the doctrines doc-trines of that school of politics, have treated and spoken of the Chinese as though they had no rights. The Rock Springs massacre was but the putting in practice of the doctrines advocated by the sand lotters. The country recognizes this and 'taces the outrage at Rock Springs and in Washington Territory to the promulgation of the sand lot doctrines of California. The demagogues and dy- namiters who congregate at the sand lots j have succeeded in bringing all California into disrepute. San Francisco has taken the initiative in the matter of setting the country right as to the true views of California Cali-fornia on the Chinese question. Denver will yet be compelled to follow the example exam-ple of San Francisco and put a stop to her dynamiters. The dynamiters of Denver are of the same genus as the sand lotters of San Francisco. .
