Show Gladstone Disappoints the Irish. ; DtJBUH,- September 19. That portion of Mr, Gladstone's manifesto referring to Irish affairs was received in this city with a feeling feel-ing of general disappointment. The ground is taken by some that the expressions of the ex-Premier are in harmony with those of Mr. Chamberlain as expressed by the latter, recently at Glasgow and elsewhere. Others look for a further development of Mr. Gladstone's Glad-stone's ideas in regard to the question of local government in Ireland in his future utterances. |
