Jo the Inhabitants of Salt Lake City : ' At a special meeting of the City Council of this city, held Saturday,. December 5th, 1885, it was decided that an official investigation investi-gation of the many rumors in circulation at the ' present time affecting the peace and welfare of the city and its inhabitants inhab-itants be had, commencing Monday, December De-cember 7th, at 10 a.m. Invitations were immediately im-mediately issued to all persons whom there was reason to suppose nad any knowledge concerning the rumors mentioned, to attend at-tend said investigation and furnish the Council with any information in reference thereto they might possess. In response thereto a number of persons appeared, and their .testimony was taken and duly considered. con-sidered. . For the purpose of giving the investigation investiga-tion the broadest possible scope, a respectful respect-ful invitation is now extended to every inhabitant in-habitant of the city and to all whom it may concern, to be present at said investigation at the City Hall, on Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock a. m., and to furnish to the Council any and all information which they may possess relative to the rumors aforesaid, their origin or spread, or to any other matter affecting the public tranquility.
