Show The Northern Pacific's Circnlar. New York, January 13. The following letter let-ter is made public: Nobthebn Pacific Kaileoad Co., President's Office, New York, January 12th, 1885. To the Boiulliolders and Stockholders of the Northern Pacific Railway Company: It is publicly stated that Commissioner Sparks, of the General Land Office, has rendered ren-dered a decision to the effect that this company com-pany has no grant of lands for its road between be-tween the Columbia river and Puget Sound. There is no foundation in law or reason for such decision. An appeal will at once be taken to the Secretary of the Interior, and, if necessary, the company will resort to the courts to maintain its rights. Neither you nor purchasers of the lands of this company need entertain the slightest, apprehension as to the result. - (Signed) Eobebt Harris, President. |
