Show Trouble Brewing in Oklahoma. NewObleens, November 7. A Little Rock (Ark.) speoial dispatch to the Times-Democrat says; Advices from Indian Territory say that the "Boomers" have secured a foothold foot-hold in Oklahoma, and that it would take United States troops some time to clear the country of them, as the intruders are widely scattered. There are numbers of armed men, and the possibility of a fight between the "Boomers" and troops is by no means remote. The statement is made that the leaders desire to bring about a conflict on the eve of the assembling of Congress, so that Congressional action may be had and Oklahoma legally opened to settlement. The Indians are reported as becoming restless rest-less under the situation, though no outbreak is anticipated. |
