Show The Hewlett Case Continued At the opening of the District Court this morning Mr Rawlins arose and stated that he had several affidavits in ugwl to the physical condition of his client Waller 1 Hewlett who stands indicted in-dicted upon the charge of murder Mr Rawlins read one of the affidavits sworn to by the wife of the defendant which represents that the defendant is subject to epileptic fits and that he is taken with them sometimes once or twice a week and sometimes as often as twice in one day Policeman Smith was then sworn and stated that he had known the defendant 1 I for years and that for the last ten years he had been subject to fits and had often fallen in the street with them Mr Rawlins presented other affidavits to the Court and His Honor decided to S ontinue the case for the term and an order was made to that effect The wit nesses were all excused until resub ptunacd Hewlett will be remembered as the man who engaged in a fight with one Cordon at Bingham some three or four years ago which resulted fatally to the latter The trial of his case has been pending for some years and the prospects are that it will be pending for several I years more |
