Show CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS Petitions 1cports and miscellaneous miscellan-eous Business The City Council met in the Council Chamber at7 oclock last evening Mayor Sharp took the chair and the hearing of petitions was commenced John Platt and F Bolwinkle property owners on Apricot street represented that the streets in their neighborhood instead in-stead of being four rods wide as they should be were mere lanes of twenty feet or so in width They accordingly petitioned the City Council to order the streets from Quince to Centre opened to their full width Referred to the Committee Com-mittee on Streets and Alleys Win Fuller assignee of J Russell i saloon keeper asked permission to dispose dis-pose of the stock of the saloon at private pri-vate sale under Mr Russells unexpired license He further requested that when business was closed out the balance remaining after the Citys claims against Mr Russell had been settled should be refunded to him Referred to the Committee Com-mittee on License May Kneass of the Tunnel saloon having discontinued business asked that the unexpired portion of their license be refunded Referred to Committee on I License H B Clawson asked that his license be transferred to J W Sanders Ca Granted Isaac Hunt being unable on account 01 illhealth to continue his business of ex pressman asked that his license be remitted re-mitted Granted C W Parker tIll J Fitzgerald were granted licenses as liquor dealers and the Council turned their attention to reports City Attorney F S Richards had nothing new to report the general condition condi-tion of things being about the same as it was when he made his last report The Marshal reported fJolGo expended from his contingent fund Referred to Committee on Police The Committee on Water Works recommended re-commended that the petition of T C Watson asking for a renewal of permission permis-sion to use city water for sprinkling purposes pur-poses he granted under the conditions that he use canal water as much as possible pos-sible and that he pay into the treasury I the sum of 150 for the season Granted WatermaHter Winders report on his I canal expenditures was found to be correct cor-rect rectMr Mr Watson was instructed to sprinkle the street from the Continental Hotel corner to the Utah Nevada depot for the convenience of the patrons of the bathing trains The evenings work was closed with the following list of appropriations To R K Williams for registering fortyone dogs at 1 each 41 to Mrs i M A Burt for feeding prisoners 1949 I meals at 15 cents per meal 29215 to the contingent fund of the Superintendent of Water Works 1000 to the contingent contin-gent fund of the Fire Department 100 Adjourned |
