Show Utah Contractors Skip from Butte Fitch Coulter building contractors I who came up from Utah about t year ago were anxiously looked for all this morning and forenoon by a gang of workmen work-men employed on Sands l Boyces building build-ing The search was in vain the birds had flown Inquiry developed the fact that these men were the contractors on the Sands Boyce building and subcontractors sub-contractors under W A Boyce on Mr Hydes block corner of Main and Part streets Yesterday they drew 1000 from Sands Boyce for the purpose as it was supposed of paying their workmen work-men They failed to do this They also went to Mr Hyde amI asked him for nearly 1000 with which to pay their hands He refused to turn the monev over to them but said he would pay tie workmen at the bank whenever they wanted their money lie however let them have 110 During the day he paid to the hands working for Fitch l Coulter the sum of 5520 thus saving that amount the men who would otherwise other-wise have been whistling for their money this morning Just what amount the smooth contractors coI tractors got away with is not known They received but 1110 yesterday but it is said that other moneys had been paid to them a short time ago by parties for whom they were building Fitch Coulter Coul-ter built the Grand Opera house They claim they made nothing on the contract Unite InterMountain 22th |
