Show RAILWAY RUMBLES Personal and General Notes of local Interest B S Fitch president of the Utah Midland Mid-land returned today from Tintic The Western passenger train was one hour late today There were sixty Raymond Ray-mond excursionists aboard J H Young of the C N W returned re-turned from the North last evening It is generally believed among railroad men that another passenger train will be put on the Union Pacific in the near future which will probably carry the fast mail and make the run between Omaha and and Ogden in about twelve hours less time than the run is made at present Nothing further has been heard concerning con-cerning the reported change in the management man-agement of the operating department of the Union Pacific Some of the officials i of the road now think the rumor was i without foundation but under the circumstances cir-cumstances this is hardly likely Larai vile Boomerang The Union Pacific have under consideration consider-ation the feasibility of moving Echo station sta-tion about threequarters of a mile nearer Ogden in order to do away with the danger dan-ger now attached through its proximity to the big curve just above EchoPark City Y This move if made will necessitate ne-cessitate the removal of nearly all the companys buildings at that point and will entail a great expense Under the circumstances it is a move that is almost demanded by the traveling public as the curve in question is a very dangerons point and the expense incurred i would be as naught compared to one single life Had the project been consummated one year ago Engineer Beemis would not I have been sacrificed and would today I be alive and well The grade at the point under discussion is very heavy and when the air fails to work as it did in I the last accident earthly power cannot I avert disaster should anything be in tile I way I wayThe project is a wise one and we hope I to see it consummatedPark City Call |
