Show SENSIBLE MR COOPER He Promisco to Obey the LOW and Ills Sentence Is Suspended i Late yesterday afternoon F A Cooper of West Jordan who recently completed a six months term of imprisonment in the Penitentiary entered the District Court in compauy with C K Gilchrist his attorney Mr Gilchrist stated to the Court that there had been three indictments against Mr Cooper that he had already served a term of imprisonment on one of them and that he was yet to be tried on the other two He further stated that Mr Coopers legal wife had died while he was in the Pen and that he had since been legally married to one of the other wives and intended to live with her exclusively ex-clusively Mr Gilchrist expressed for Mr Cooper a strong determination to obey the law in spite of everyone and everything though without a desire to create any ill feeling among his friends The defendant had already pleaded not guilty to these two indictments but he asked permission to withdraw this plea and this being granted he entered a plea of guilty Mr Dickson then made a motion that the sentence in these cases be suspended pending the good conduct of the defendant defend-ant and the order was so made Mr Cooper to be congratulated upon this assertion of his manhood and the exercise ex-ercise of such good sense |
