Show j f L I THE CITY COUNCIL II I Transacted nt Iat The Business rie Nlfbt Session Council met in A quorum of the City ounci regular session last evening with Mayor I Sharp in the chair Order being called the minutes of the previous meeting wore i j read and approved Mrs Bell Longstroft petitioned for permission per-mission to sell goods on Fit South street free of license Referred to committee I Mr K E Douglas representing the United States Directory Company of San of their recently I Francisco presented a copy cently compiled directory of Salt Lake I I centy gotten and bound in City beautifully goten up red morocco for the Council to inspect I several copies with a view of purchasing at 250 each One of the superiorities of their compilation over Crofutts was claimed to be 2400 more names of residents resi-dents than contained in the other work Referred to the Finance Committee Mr F S Richards City Attorney presented pre-sented his report for the quarter ending June oOth The single case of Milo Vincent Vin-cent charged with resisting an officer District Court had been appealed to the Cout All other cases stood as before The report was ordered placed on file The committee having the petition of H F Evans and others in hand asking for street repairs recommended that the petition be complied with Adopted etton Improvement Committee having the Salt Lake City Gas Companys bill under consideration reported that they I had examined the statement and fount i the items to be correct The sum of 7055 was therefore recommended to be paid The following appropriations were folowing made F W Taylor for services in the Assessor and Collectors office for the last month ending the 15th inst 50 Street Supervisors contingent fund 1000 City Marshals fund 500 Fire department 100 The Council then dismissed the light session until next week |
