Show Scaring the Crown Prince BRUSSEL April 9lfuch excitement was caused in the city this morning by a report that an attempt had been made to assasinate Prince Rudolph Crown Prince of Austria The report i arose from an incident which occurred to the prince on one of the public pub-lic streets He and the Count and Countess of Flanders were on their way in the royal carnage to the cathedral to I attend the Te Deum celebrated there i today in commemoration of the fifty I fifth anniversary of the birthday of King Leopold a man who was in a state of I I I great excitement when he saw the carriage car-riage approaching rushed wildly at it and with his naked fist smashed in the window The incident produced pro-duced much excitement on the street and at the cathedral wither the story of it soon traveled much exaggerated The man who attacked at-tacked the carriage is unknown to any of its occupants He was unarmed and is I believed by the police to be a lunatic He I is in jail awaiting examination |
