Show Around the Globe i Weekly Happenings of Campuses lr I I HEALTH T Rr WELLNESS CENTER REDWOOD I Health and Wellness Week will take place at several several several sev sev- eral campuses over the week of Sept 12 South City Redwood Jordan and Sandy Campuses will all host different events during the five days The events range from free massages to depression anxiety screening to making a stress ball GRAND THEATRE For those wanting to see the release re-release of Always Patsy Cline The Grand Theatre will be releasing free tickets for a special showing on Sept 8 The event is titled College Evening at The Grand and is open to all faculty and staff of Before the show the Theater will hold a reception on the South City Patio at pm p.m. the play will begin at pm p.m. JORDAN Beginning Aug 31 and continuing throughout the fall semester will be holding Study Skills Workshops Each workshop is an hour long and features features features fea fea- tures either one-on-one one or group discussions about each sessions session's topic Each is designed to help students students students stu stu- dents improve their study The workshops include Learning Memory Time Management Textbook and Classroom Note Taking Study Skills Stress Management and Test Taking Strategies All of the workshops will be held in the Conference Room at 11 1100 00 am a.m. The workshops will also be beheld beheld beheld held at Redwood Sandy and South City Campuses at various times and dates Student Life and Leadership will host a Vendor Fair on Sept 1 All students are invited to attend this event in which businesses from around the valley valley valley val val- val val- ley will be showcasing their products and services Student Life and Leadership will also be holding a barbeque lunch for 5 and the lunch will be accompanied accompanied accompanied by a live band This years year's Multicultural Orientation hosted by Multicultural Initiatives will be held on Sept 8 from to pm p.m. in the Student Centers Center's Oak Room The event will feature opportunities for students students students stu stu- stu- stu dents to meet members of the various campus organizations organizations organizations orga orga- such as the Student Executive Council Students will also get to learn who they are and how they can succeed at Space is limited so reservations are required by calling SOUTH CITY The Fall 2005 Faculty Training sessions are set to begin soon The Sessions will be held in room WIllE W- W 11 IllE IE at South City Campus There will be two different different different dif dif- dif dif- ferent dates for the sessions either Sept 21 or Oct 20 with two times am a.m. or pm p.m. Redwood Campus will also hold the same events at differing times and dates To make reservations for either event faculty members are asked to contact Judy Boretsky at or Deadline for registration is either Sept 9 for the Sept sessions or Oct 14 for the Oct sessions |
