H Lynn Cundiff is preparing to say a final goodbye good good- bye During the last of March Cundiff announced he would be I resigning in May to pursue r Y another job opportunity Despite the fact he is looking forward to the new adventure for him and his family Cundiff has expressed sadness about is departure While striving to make changes Cundiff created new learning environments for students students students stu stu- f dents and staff Before arriving at Cundiff like any individual individual individual indi indi- vidual starting a new task did feel some intimidation b but t quickly learned CC was wa to be bean an ex exciting lt ng a ven- ven it JE l J I tuTe A Jt I foun he people he people to ber be A ch r See S e CUNDIFF F Fon 11 on page 5 CUNDIFF continued from page 1 receptive and found a world class faculty here who wanted to try new and inventive things recalled President Cundiff Upon arrival Cundiff knew had the opportunity to expand He wanted to see the learning experience go from inside the classroom to outside the classroom and to play on a national level This college can have a national reputation It can be thereal the thereal thereal real source of education for the vast majority of people in this valley commented President Cundiff Since Cundiff has been president the college has changed in many ways and new ideas have been implemented ed The college expanded to its 13 current locations and Internet and blended courses become more available By giving more options to students Cundiff believed more individuals would have the opportunity at an edu edu- edu- edu cation The learning environment for students we hope has changed to a better platform and anda a more diverse platform Its It's been neat to watch it happen said President Cundiff He hasn't just observed the change in the college but also the change in students Recalling one of his favorite times of the year Cundiff said he will miss watching the new students students stu stu- students stu- stu dents come in the fall semesters and seeing students feel success at graduation In response to leaving President Cundiff said Its a mixed bag There are mixed emotions about leaving the people people people peo peo- faculty staff and students Ive I've been close to a number of students and care about them greatly With President Cundiff departing after graduation in May he wants students to forever er remember the lessons learned in and out of class at Students have the opportunity opportunity opportunity for a quality education here If they apply themselves and I think most do they can have a great and successful life There is no substitute for education It will open their h horizons and i move them forward in ways they have never thought about This I is a wonderful place to start O I II I |
