Show Who's done what r Pres Presidents President's dents dent's Cabinet The Presidents President's Cabinet worked hard Fall Semester to get up and started This new idea was wasa a wonderful success The goal of the Cabinet is to better represent students student's views and diverse ideas 4 There is an Ethnic Chair that is working hard to put together a coalition of students students students stu stu- stu- stu dents to help ethnic minorities minorities' fight the issues they have to face and deal The Service Chair is taking on the enormous task of l- l helping students to become more service oriented and have more opportunities We are also looking for a Bruin Pride Sports Chair Chairas as well as some other sonie som other M assistants assistants' to h help lp make the cabinet a l Sl and effective effective effective tive service for students If you are interested come apply in the Student Life and Leadership offices The Cabinet has also been working on some issues commutatively Of the many issues that the Cabinet has worked on on together fall semester the most important is the projected projected projected pro pro- tuition increase for 2003 The Cabinet has tried to motivate students to take a stand and be informed The Cabinet firmly believes that if students across the State come together for these next few months by participating in Februarys February's student rally on Capitol Hill talking to your legislators legislators legislators legis legis- and writing letters and emails we the Students can make a dif dif- ference We invite all Students here at to get involved talk to a member of the Executive Council Cabinet Senate or other member of Student Government and help us make a difference Senate During the summer th the Senate was reorganized into three regions The Senate is still a single body but now there are regional delegations Since we started working together we have been helping students with their concerns At the beginning beginning beginning begin begin- ning of fall semester the Senate was made aware many times of concerns about the and process of adding and dropping classes In attempt to solve these con con- cerns the Senate arranged meetings for those staff members over these areas to come talk with us so that they could be aware of the students concerns and also so they could inform us what is really going on so we could respond to the students with correct mation The Senate has used this same process with concerns concerns concerns con con- cerns about financial aid international and out of state tuition and with tuition increases Recently the senate helped rally students students students stu stu- stu- stu dents to come to the Truth in Tuition forums with President Cundiff More students came this year and it was great to see students students students stu stu- dents express their concerns concerns concerns con con- cerns directly to President Cundiff which showed that students do care about what happens to them themi f The Senate is currently working on a project that thatis is evaluating the academic advising at This has also been a number one concern from the stu stu- dents The Senate is pre preparing aring for the Utah Intercollegiate Assembly that will be held at the state capital during the first week of April The Senate is focusing and working extra hard for UTA UIA this year so that the students of have the best representation representation representation possible J J t R Redwood Region Vice President This past semester we have had a variety of activities that we thought would serve the diverse student body on th the Redwood Campus We have had family programs like the Rodeo Carnival Halloween carnival movie and dinner and Breakfast with Santa For our students students students stu stu- dents that are on campus during the daytime we have had activities that include free prizes and lunch like Pizza and Bingo Who Wants to be a Millionaire and also our monthly Big Mac Mondays F For or our evening students and those that want to get out we have date night activities like Bingo with prizes and dances We are trying to keep our minds open to trying new things which we have done and we hope Kickoff All proceeds go to the Utah Aids Foundation We sponsored an academic ic career-advising career event in response to the student survey we conducted We coordinated it through our student services Subs With Santa Santa came to help us sell sub sandwiches All proceeds went to Sub for Santa fundraiser 2nd annual Sub for Santa sleep out We stayed outside outside outside out out- side at the Jordan campus from the following following following follow follow- ing morning to raise 1000 for the Utah Aids Foundation We collected 1100 in cash donations |
