Show Student Cries for Climate Control in Classrooms It is Monday November 14 at am a.m. It is also 13 degrees out out- side Struggling with our backpacks backpacks backpacks back back- packs we climb into our cars and wait for the engine to warm up The drive to school is uneventful uneventful uneventful un un- un- un eventful and we arrive early Stumbling into class our eyes meet with the less fortunate ones Those poor students who arrived alas too early and now sit before us frozen solid their pens poised in mid air ready to take notes is unheated once again The heating system had been off all weekend and we struggle to write with frozen pens on laden ice-laden paper The professor arrives and turns the thermostats up to around seventy degrees Great news for forthe forthe forthe the am class but what about us I guess one benefit is you can always see where the professor is isby isby isby by the puffs of breath in the cold There Theny is a flip side Every now and then you will open the door and dis dis- dis- dis cover that instead of a cold front a tropical heat wave has swept through the room and it is now a pleasant degrees Hello Hades Attired in two t-shirts t three sweaters gloves a leather jacket and anda a scarf most roost students pass out from crom the heat within the first ten minutes Myself I bring sunglasses and tanning tanning tanning tan tan- ning lotion Now it seems that we the students cannot be satisfied Its too cold its it's too hot we cry Perhaps what we should be saying is Please a happy median would be nice You know somewhere between Alaska and the Caribbean We dont don't want to freeze its it's hard to bend our fingers to write and we dont don't want to fry leave that to McDonalds Just remember that all we ask for is something in the range of seventy and while were we're at it how about some hot chocolate Ernie Geddes Business Administration Major |
