Show The thin blue line VERY day law enforcement officers are E EVERY called upon to deal with the sometimes humorous but mostly unpleasant and sometimes sometimes sometimes some some- times violent side of life The violence sometimes sometimes sometimes some some- times results in the loss of a life and all too often the life lost is that of a law enforcement officer For the men and women who wear a badge this is a sobering slap in the face because somewhere in the United States approximately approximate approximate- ly every 57 hours a law enforcement officer is called upon to make that ultimate sacrifice for his community On Oct 30 of this year ground breaking ceremonies were held in Washington DC D.C. to commemorate a memorial to law enforcement officers killed in inthe inthe inthe the line of duty Some of tomorrows tomorrow's peace officers will begin their careers here at as a part of the Criminal Justice Program others as part of the Peace Officers Officer's Academy We need to take a afew afew afew few minutes out of our busy schedule to thank and be thankful for these men and women who someday may be called upon to make that ultimate sacrifice We need to remember and pay respect to those officers who have fallen in the line of duty protecting duty protecting us and our community These brave men and women have gone where we fear to go have seen what we fear to see and have done what we fear to do They do not do this for the glory and as any cop will tell you they dont don't do it for the pay They do it because they care about their communities So the next time you see one of our local cops take a minute to just say thanks You just might be surprised at the response Dennis L.
