J Q Q Sr S r Y r A x l. l I Jf f r M W Guest Editorial Drivers start your engines Dear Editor CI Class ss is done for the day the sun is shining shining shin shin- shining ing and I have the afternoon to play I stroll toward the bus stop on the East side of Redwood Redwood Redwood Red Red- wood Road heading for the city Unfortunately Unfortunately Unfortunately I have to deal with cars going well over the speed limit and impatient students speeding off while not paying any attention to pedestrians Problems like these are a serious threat to fellow students and anyone who mu must t deal with crossing Redwood Road In one incident I made it halfway across the road looked at the oncoming car and the driver started to slow then slow then all of a sudden the driver sped up and laughed as I leaped for forthe forthe forthe the curb The driver thought it was very funny I did not The next day I saw the same car almost hit another student as it was leaving the Northeast Northeast Northeast North North- east parking lot of the college A fellow student student student stu stu- stu- stu dent Yes as clearly identified by the parking sticker hanging from the front mirror of the car Where were the campus police Busy writIng writing writing writ writ- ing parking tickets wile students are playing the dodge-the-car It is only a matter of time before a college or elementary student is seriously hurt or even killed Drivers should think and take all precautions when driving in school zone areas Just imagine if you one day had to face the Redwood Road run Richard Cheski 1 1 t I IT b t w The driver in this photograph clearly violates Utah statutes by entering an occupied pedestrian crossing Photo by Richard Kichard Cheski |
