Show Alert staff member foils theft Culprit tackled in parking lot Carrie Thompson Contributing Writer An video machine was stolen and retrieved all in ten minutes late Friday afternoon afternoon afternoon after after- noon Feb 10 Kevin Frazier Crafts Center gave his version of the crime committed on cam campus pusA pus A KA male in his early twenties came down downto to the crafts center and asked me for a piece of plastic to cover his VCR because it was raining said Frazier Frazier was concerned why this person had a VCR in the first place so he asked What are you going to do with a VCR The reply was I am checking it out from the library for my sister who goes here The Crafts Center Instructor then told the theman theman theman man that there had been some problems lately lately late late- ly with VCRs VCR's being stolen and asked Would you mind if we went and made sure The answer was No Id I'd be glad to check checkwith checkwith checkwith with you Frazier and the man then went up to the CC main level to find out about the VCR As Frazier went to find out the man darted out the north entrance with the VCR under his arm Catch him he has our VCR Frazier said Cameron Cooper president Richard Rico Casaus and Frazier chased after him They raced across the parking lot towards the Business Building where Cooper tackled the thief I ran fast and caught up to him Cooper said Cooper stated that the man said Let me go you can have the VCR but just let me go But Cooper said This is too serious When the man was asked by security why he took the machine his reply said Cooper The security policeman took the mans man's name and address and placed him under ar ar- ar- ar rest Investigations are now pending |
