L Jensen Staff Writer summer in full WITH swing there is a lot of outdoor recreation available from fishing hiking and camping to exploring mountain mountain mountain moun moun- tain ranges surrounding the Salt Lake Valley Lets Let's focus on fishing Since its it's the and most of us find ourselves rather short on time for recreation I Ican Ican Ican can tell you about some fun and exciting places to go that are not only close but will bring lots of enjoyment as well Less than two hours east of Salt Lake City you'll find yourself in the Strawberry Valley where you can either fish the reservoir the Strawberry Strawberry Strawberry Straw Straw- berry River or her tributaries The reservoir provides good bank fishing with easy access to many great fishing spots The reservoir is full of outlets that will provide good fishing catching 10 to inch 14 trout is not uncommon and who knows you might even catch a 16 to inch 18 trophy weighing weighing weighing weigh weigh- ing five pounds or more Bait fishing works well but if you want to try something different use a Woolly Bugger weighted down using a slow retrieve Casting the Woolly Bugger down the shore line about 10 feet away from the bank or around stumps or sunken rocks will tempt most trout out for an easy meal For the fly fisherman many types of dry flies can be used depending upon conditions and time of year Woolly Buggers Bugger's s Elk Hair Caddis and Pale Morning Duns work well throughout the year The Strawberry River usually provides good trout fishing r J i j t tr r b I.
