Show Reader doesn't believe the Theory Dear Editor This letter is addressed to Reggie Brown writer of the Beautiful View I read with great interest your Theory in inthe inthe inthe the October 14 issue of the Horizon I did not find it personally personally personally per per- offensive but I spoke to many who did I did find your theory interesting but I did not find it at all valid In your own words every Caucasian woman has desires for men of African descent descent descent-be be beit it conscious or not 1 I find this statement laughable It certainly certain ertain- ly may be true tru that some women have such desires but butto butto butto to say that every woman feels that way is a ridiculous generalization I am not a woman although I am Caucasian Luckily I do know a few females so I asked them about this Theory Not a sing single e female I questioned felt that they felt an attraction to a man because of his skin color I know I know know- the patriarchal society of which I am a member has built the fear of the African man into Caucasian women as you explained explained explained ex ex- ex- ex in Horizon so they would never admit this desire to me a Caucasian man But I Ido Ido Ido do think that if anybody would know about these desires it would be the woman herself Some of these females had dated men of African descent The reasons they gave without being asked might surprise you Mr Brown They claimed to like the men they had dated because of traits other than skin color Things like personality personality personality per per- sense of humor and the way the men treated them were cited as reasons for having had the these e racially mixed relationships ps Imagine that two that two people liking one another and wanting wanting wanting want want- ing to be together because of who they are rather that t ia fro whence th they y are descended Larry Garry Q C 7 |
