Show Saving lives takes only a little time and caring carinI Dear Editor On Friday night ight Oct 2 two children ages four and five were killed while riding a tricycle across Redwood Road and South They were too young to know about bo crosswalks The driver of the vehicle did not see the children but I have a hard time believing that no other responsible adult saw the boys in time timeto to save them from entering the street On Sept 29 at am a.m. I was driving to school As I approached the intersection of 2400 South Sout and Redwood Road I noticed an old woman in the middle of the street frantically waving her arms for someone to stop I watched at least drivers ignore her and go on their way What do you do with a lost old woman I Iwas Iwas Iwas was in a hurry to get to class but she looked frightened so I r 1 stopped to help her I drove herto her herto herto to Security where they took great care to to find where she belonged I went went went-on on to class On Sept 13 again on Redwood Road I turned the corner on North just in time to to see a puppy get hit The driver kept going This puppy was lucky she got back up I called caned Animal Control and they saw to it that she w was s stabilized and well taken care of How many people saw the puppy playing in or near the the road prior to her getting hit Are people so busy with their own lives that they dont don't have tUne time to stop and help an animal or a human that could be in danger All i it would cost is a little time thus saving another motorist the anguish of hitting it Im I'm not referring to the type of accidents involving involving involving in in- a deer that has bounded out onto an open highway that is surrounded by fields I am referring to the kind that involve an unfortunate c.- c. person or animal that wanders out onto a city street Automobile accidents can be reduced through simple caring Signed Vicki Lewis |
