Show What's the point Dear Editor I never thought I would find myself agreeing with a Darren Knott nott column much less liking one but he made some really good points in Student Government What's The Point I totally agree with him when he says say that with the sort of representation we have vs the student government I think that I would like to just keep my student fees and apply them to something a little more im im- If I could think of anything the student government has done for us students I might feel differently But I dont don't know one person who has ever been ask asked d by a student official about what we want All I see them doing is what they want so the point Some people say this is caused by student apathy but they fail to see that apathy is a symptom of something else in this case neglect Student government has neglected touching touching touching touch touch- ing base with the governed and has instead hung out in their offices allocating our student student student stu stu- stu- stu dent fees to idiocies like clocks Then people wonder why nobody votes in student elections The answer is simple For Forone Forone Forone one thing we know by experience that those elections never do anything for us us and another is that we cant can't see even an effort on their part to do anything for us Darren Knotts Knott's point is well taken With their variety of representation why have them Why should we pay for their retreats tuition clothes etc when they dont don't give anything in return Just an elected Student Senate would be benice be nice but they've already said its it's illegal to do that The point is they should either give us representation or let us keep our money oney They shouldn't be able to have it both ways Connie Anast c df e |
