Show Desert Shield soldiers might be shunned To the Editor We all know that our soldiers soldiers sol sol sol- diers are in the Middle East in Saudi Arabia to be exact With all of the protesting going on across the United States are we going to treat the returning Army Navy Marines and Air Force people the same way that they were treated after and during the Vietnam War And believe me Vietnam was a war in the true sense of war Are we the American public going to toshun toshun toshun shun these brave soldiers when we see them in the airports airports airports air air- ports in the stores and other public places in the US U.S. I can remember coming home on leave in 1968 While waiting for my plane at the Denver airport people were looking at me in a very strange way I could hear them mumble something under their breath about my uniform Although I was very proud of it I felt very If there is actual fighting or not we should give these men and women over there all of our support And upon their return we should show our appreciation tion because after all they are there at the invite of the Saudi government Trying to keep the Saudi people free not just to keep oil coming over to the US U.S. Just as in World War II we US U.S. were fighting to keep France and England free At the End r. r of the two world wars there were ticker tape parades for the soldiers Why then were there not parades for the Vietnam vets vet's There should be for the Armed Forces people in Middle East Come on America use your God given senses Josh Jackson |
