Show Attendance In Classrooms Drops by Tami Tam Silvester It seems that students had more on their minds than classes last week as the rate of attendance in the classrooms dropped to an time all-time low for the q quarter arter Th The nice weather was one factor which greatly affected class size It seems that quite a few of our students are suffering from Spring Fever commented one member of the faculty One student replied Its awfully hard to sit in a stuffy classroom for 50 minutes when the weather is so nice outside Another factor was that there was an abundance of activities going on in inand inand inand and around school last week Everything from belly dancing to an old-fashioned old and sock-hop sock enticed students away from their studies One teacher Alma McKertich found herself resorting to quizzes to try to encourage the students to pick pickup pickup up their waning attendance Hopefully the Spring Fever epidemic will subside before too many of us find ourselves with nothing but a good goad tan to show for Spring Quarter Calligraphy Class Offered At Art Barn SALT LAKE CITY ARTS COUNCIL Register Now for Calligraphy Workshop at the Art Barn An introductory course in italic handwriting calligraphy sponsored by the Salt Lake City Arts Council will take place Saturday May 16 between am a.m. and pm p.m. atthe at atthe atthe the Art Barn Finch Lane at Reservoir Park The basics of upper and lower case letter styles is the principle focus of the course Carol Taylor is the instructor and the cost is 15 Students should bring a lunch and must bring their own supplies The wise will register early For more information call the Salt Lake City Arts Council at |
