Show Open Letter To The President Traditionally and rightfully students on College Campuses have been question askers and answer seekers We are taught not to take things at face value but to investigate further and understand the root of the matter The have been a peaceful time on Americas America's c campuses mp ses Many of us can can an still remember the tragedy of Kent State and the riots at Berkeley University It is isa isa isa a time none of us want to relive Utah Technical College students wish to make a statement concerning our parking situation The question askers seek the answers to why our one activity of the Free Parking Day is causing so so much disruption on this campus between faculty and administration Would you rather we be marching in protest against lack of parking We are voicing our concern in a peaceful manner and have run up against opposition from the same group of people the faculty that have taught us to be aggressive and go for what we believe is right We are aware that those who are opposing us are the vocal minority but they are causing harsh feelings between the students and other faculty members that really do care We have cancelled our Free Parking Day but with much disappointment that the faculty has fought us and that the Administration has backed down from its original stand that it made on January 22 1985 In that Council Meeting it was voted 13 to 4 that the Administration Council would support this activity Free Parking Day is cancelled Associated Students Executive Council 85 1984 c t. t |
