| Show Student Senator Proposes J JHelen New Constitutional Revision b. b Helen Thompson Senator-at-Large Senator for the Student Senate proposed proposed pro pro- proposed y posed a new revision of Article 10 of the AS Constitution The i revision proposed at the February 23 senate meeting changes the y previous article that allowed the Vice President of Finances to have his her own budget V The revision is actually an update of Article 10 The Tle constitution fis f is now going under numerous changes with the student senate in in hz f seSSIon session s Thompson proposed that since there is no AS SL TC SL Treasurer position on the Executive Council the duties are assigned to the Vice President of Finance Thompson also stated that since student fees fee's have increased and no guidelines were established to handle f this increase with regards to the responsibilities of the budget the revision was therefore necessary Thompsons' Thompsons new revision states that requisitions can only be be drawn on the operations account by the Vice President e Jf nt 1 5 responsible for that budget over the signature of the AS hL SL SL a i l Vice Vic President of Finance as verification of funds availability the AS SL President and Executive Council advisor or the Dean J w of Students in that ord order r. r Senator Senator-at Senator Large Large J John o n Peek expressed his concern that this j budget was first established when the Executive Council took office w win in June of 1983 Peek stated that he opposed the change since since the Vice President of Finances needs a budget to c cover ver the various V expenses that come from f om the office Rob Executive Vice President called for a a. a vote of House t Bill 84 84 1 Eleven of the sen senators tors approved of the bill while one one senator opposed it |
