| Show I I r Letter to the Editor Points West ti Chele Johnson Acting Editor Letters and Answers Penny Anny Poker and Captain Puke would probably not even be allowed in a rough draft of a reject copy of Playboy I am hoping that our Freshman Class President is taking t time to go goto goto goto to class to gain enough maturity to express himself without using language that tends to give me the flu all over again I have only been on a deer hunt once that even approximately fits the experience indicated in that extremely long rhyme It just about cut off the job of the sport altogether No wonder so many people that do go hunting become injured in some form or another if that is all the hunt is about There are other pleasing materials or even light-hearted light things to talk about that could be presented in a more presentable fashion for the great students of Utah Tech than the kind of garbage that appears on the second page of the first issue of the 76 1975 Points West publication Dont Don't keep me disappointed Try again I was not satisfied with the story Penny Anny Poker With Capt Puke but I was not trying to fulfill a spiritual need when I wrote it One positive aspect I will relate It did bring attention to the fact our paper needs and wants good writers Its It's quite easy to cut anything but a little tougher to provide an excellent The story is purely hypothetical and I dont don't claim to be giving an accurate view of deer hunt I only find humor in the actions of people Anyone wi with th a reasonable mind could accept the realization that the story is obviously As for the graphic word use use use-there's there's theres NO EXCUSE Yes I could have written it differently and given the same view For saying Shit I apologize May I say I didn't print it anyway Dont Don't be upset you'll see no more of my uncensored humor or what ever it is Im I'm really quite there wasn't more comment on this subject our college needs active student participation Again sorry for being human and making I mistakes Chris Wentworth PS I find it curious that a fine person like the one who so vividly remarks a comparison of a uPLA PLAYBOY REJECT to my poem would know of such items Pure MINDS l have always amazed me with their unaccountable knowledge of wrong I dont don't wish to be ant just very apologetic to the people I offended and a pledge for more mature actions in the future Dear Being editor I cannot allow Chris to except total responsibility for I his poem which appeared in the first Points West edition As Chris NO EXCUSE I too stated As for the graphic word use use use-there's there's theres apologize to all who were offended I also apologize to Chris I would like to also add that your letter was appreciated We need people who are conscientious about the activities which take place on campus There are several things which puzzle me though why didn't you sign your name Your letter indicated that you took a little time and effort to compose it I cant can't see where there would be any qualms to signing your name Also we made it vary obvious in our first edition that we are in in need of more people on our staff people who honestly want to see this paper become the finest publication on any campus I am therefore urging you to come out of the woodwork and take an ana a active tive part in the paper before it is printed We appreciate any comments and criticisms that are warranted but our paper cannot develop on these alone We need the participation of the people that back them Thank you Chele Johnson Editor |
