Show so BLANDING B L A N D I 1 N G 00 BOY SCOUTS EXPLORERS HAVE ENJOYABLE TIME two truck loads of blanding and grayson ward boy scouts and explorers enjoyed a wonder r outing at butler wash southwest southwest of bluff friday evening and sat arday the weather was just right according to scout leader glen Shurn shumway way it too cold or too toa hot and the ampon moon shone beautifully beau t all evening after supper prep prepared a red and enjoyed by the groups they had a program around the campfire lyman bayles doug galbraith and tex bradford took their oars loaded with people to spend the evenin evening 9 they took albert R lyman who entertained the boys with stories of early san juan and told of the bad men to roam this country and what happened to them also part of the evening program was a court of honor in which the boys received many promotions for foi their work dway ne bayles son calyman and dolores bayles and jimmy winters on of rowena winters were pre dented with star badges scout leaders nyal flander and aldean washburn are the scout men of the grayson ward about six thirty saturday am the boys parti participated cipa ted in a flag raising ceremony which was very impressive impre sive after breakfast they hiked in many directions glen shumway Shurn way took a truckload down the butler a little further to see a icae huge cave in that locality sev oral eral of of the boys encountered rati ile le snakes and porcupines but all had a lot fun and excitement at noon chev began their trip back to blanding FIRST TRIP ON SAN JUAN R VER TO START MAY ath frank wright and I 1 his alls group expect to start down the san juan river on their first 1953 boat trip monday may 4 there are sixteen people to go as passengers and they are a camera club from los angeles there will be five boatmen to man the five boats to carry the group the water as high as usual and not as high as they would like to have it be but mr wright thinks they wll have no trouble the only place their boats might have to be pushed a short distance is at piute diute farms and that be at all serious the trip will take 7 days KEITH SHUMWAY IN JAPAN keith shumway a son of mr and mrs arah shumway is stationed at japan at the present he is in the navy and works on a repair ship that travels in that vicinity he is expecting a week or ten day vacation soon and is hoping to see lamar wright during that time lamar ingoing is going to school in japan 2 at t the present NEW ARRIVAL A daughter arrived at the hospital in pacific grove cal april 26 for mr and mrs leonard hur st this is the first bab baby y in the family and ithe mother is the former helen redd grand parents who were waiting to hear the news were mr and mrs phil hurst and mr and mrs delbert redd it is the first grandchild for mr and mrs hurst and they feel that it is really worth the wait mrs hurst left thursday to go to Cali fronia to help welcome the new arrival WARNING FROM FIRE DEPT mr may says he and mr grow is a nephew of lucy adams mr grow is abst postmaster at ogden and very busy so their stay was short they returned to their home sunday preston and emily redd are on a business trip to
