Show fin tw U mula aft in fame balul orgley charge isa ceil I 1 sheriff T R harvey with deputy arthur adair returned wednesday night from salt lake with ross garcia and ernesto emesto garcia no relation and part of the loot tua u confessed c e ased to have stolen from I hars r city mere and the la id cafe e a week ago sunday night the men were traced from monticello to dolores and were spotted in salt lake city also a 21 car that was stolen from colores the same night they left there was found abandoned in salt lake tout but so far no evidence has been established that would connect them to the car theft As soon as it was learned that the car was in salt lake sheriff harvey talked to the FBI there they questioned the men and called sheriff harvey back stating that they felt that their investigation indicated that the men were innocent of the monticello robberies sheriff harvey immediately called the sheriffs office in salt lake requesting that the men be arrested and held until he could come for them despite the opinion of the FBI that the men were innocent sheriff harvey questioned them at length until they broke down dawn confessing that part of the loot that had been bean taken was cached in two suitcases at the home of ernesto emesto garcia in salt lake after recovering the suitcases and learning that there were also others in salt lake which contained some of the stolen goods the officers began the trip back to monticello with the prisoners upon their arrival here they recovered more of the stolen items under the floor of ross garcias mothers home the two nien men are to be arraigned this afternoon before justice of the peace C R christensen salt lake laka officers will pick up the other suit case which is supposed to contain two portable radios and the rifle that were stolen from palmers halmers Pal mers |
