Show increased brodu production clion of feed needed in 1951 in a memorandum ju jurt q released to county agricultural mobilization committees by state chairman dewey J harmon hannon the importance of increased feed grain production is stressed while feed is now mw available in near record quantities the rate of feeding is also at near record levels which constitutes a heavy drain on the supply of feeds it is essential that the grain reserves be maintained at a high level to safeguard our national economy already the increased demand for livestock dairy and poultry products require larger quantities of feed grains than were produced in 1950 and mr harm on points out that these demands may be expected to increase with the increase of consumer income which is expanding with our progress in the national nacional defense effort the requirements quire ments for next year are ex pecked to be at least million bushels greater than the prodoc tion to be expected from the march 1 declared planting intentions tent ions therefore with the outlook as it is now for only limited irrigation water and absence of subsoil moisture in the non irrigated sections and in view of the low price to be expected tor for beans it now appears that feed grains are alured of a food price and as good a chance to make a crop as anything a farmer can plant |
