Show school notes by marilyn redd mr clyde gray cray representing josties Jos tins was at the school monday the juniors ordered their class rings from him mr gray cray will return at a later date to show the seniors graduating announcements cards and class pins blanding ath and ath grades came over for ball games mon monday day monticello girls won their close game by orne one point the ath grade boys played an exciting baseball game which ended in a tie ath grade boys fought hard but the landing blanding team was victorious the ath and grades were scheduled to play ball games tuesday afternoon the sophomore class is working hard on decorations for the halloween dance for october 29 the music will be furnished by the blanding orchestra and cider and doughnuts will be served plan to attend and be sure to come in costume report cards were issued last friday the cards are different from last years in that they grade classroom habits as well as scholarship the various clubs of the school are getting under way now the photo club directed by mr sh sharp arp took pictures and developed them saturday results were very successful and more projects in photography are being planned friday nov 4 is the date set for the senior class assembly this class always presents good programs and this one is expected to be no different the me time is 1130 A M so why not plan to attend and enjoy this excellent entertainment mrs ruth stringer former english teacher writes from california that she is teaching at the sherman institute for indians her class consists of 24 panagos indians 10 to 17 years of age doing to 3rd ard grade work mrs stringer was always a favorite teacher and it is good to hear from her again students were allowed any one day out of school to join in the deer hunt and many have taken advantage of it several amusing stories resulted from the hunt this was the second year mr winget had been hunting and he got the first deer he saw with his first shot setting a record for firsts mr winget dan barber shot at a four point buck while both he and the deer were on the run and clipped the left antlers anglers off this knocked the deer down and dan was able to slit its throat before it could recover its feet philip palmer got his first deer after only ten minutes of hunting several everal i college students were home over the week end including jean bartell jean summers and rae frost also tom lyman and his friend dean martin who visited one day at school its good to have former students home and they are welcome to visit school any time the student body voted by ac clai mation to support a yearbook for this year and plans are going forward it is expected that enough money will be raised by sale of the book sale of pop etc at ball games to finance the project businessmen will not te be asked to buy advertising this year A lyceum program the white hussars hussary Hus sars will be held at 8 00 P M november 2 these programs have been exceptionally interesting this year and it is hoped that the public will attend the rest of them |
