Show A DAY IN THE OPEN by isabelle redd monticello schools from the 1st ast grade gra de to the senior high had a trip to the great outdoors friday seventh to the alth grades gathered at the school at with their lunches and bathing suits ready to mount the trucks which transported them to bluff three trucks made a successful trip to bluff and back four cars carried the faculty and some students all enjoyed swimming each testing his skill in the art the faculty and students joined at their lunch during the next two hours As the day advanced a wind became so uncomfortable that the vacation had to come to an end and all headed for monticello the freshman class stopped 1 at I t devils canyon and enjoyed a lovely evening meal the girls had prepared for the class it was a day never to be forgotten by students nor faculty who swam f fished hiked gathered flowers and enjoyed music on the accordion by marietta blake As an observer it was interesting h how ow the students chose to do continued on page eight A day in the open from tag nag 1 the thing which interested them most some of them climbed to the tops of the cliffs others were satisfied just to recline and rest A demonstration of potential na tura lists was indicated by several children the ath grade enjoyed the day at kane springs the other grades hiked toward the blue mountains and had a most interesting time the senior class left for price thursday night and enjoyed a full I 1 day there visiting the college and I 1 other places of interest they returned late friday night on may 10 the monticello faculty left school in the afternoon for the blue mountain ranch after arriving at the lodge a luscious dinner was prepared by the group the success of the party was outstanding because every one present participated in the preparation of the meal A welcome fire was in the huge fireplace and was enjoyed until about when the group returned to monticello |
