Show ANNUAL REPORT OF COUNTY NURSE at the close of a year the public health nurse completes a summary of nursing activities in her county during the past year to note what has been accomplished during 1947 there were 41 cases admitted to the communicable di disease 1 nursing service in san juan county A total of 58 field visits were made five cases were admitted to the tut losis control service 12 visits were made for heal health th lupei supervision vision A total of 93 cases were admitted to the maternal nursing service A total of 67 field visits and office visits were made A maternal health class was held in blanding and in monticello to help young mothers with their problems there were 25 prenatal conferences feren ces with a total of visits there were 78 infants admitted i i f n were made during the year 53 child health conferences were held at which infants and preschool children were seen children completed their immunizations for d dinS i aria rr ria ia for whooping were vaccinated vaccina ted for smallpox three of these conferences feren ces were held in la sal much of the success of the conferences feren ces depends on the local volunteer help A group of young folks both in blandin blanding and in monticello have been very operative cooperative co in volunteering their time A vote of thanks is extended to all who have given of their time maric alaric barton of monticello has helped with all of the monticello and some of the blanding conferences conferences for the past 14 months anyone in interested te in helping with the conferences feren ces or who has time to help is urged to contact the local public health nurse there were preschool chit chil dren admitted to the nursing nu arsin g service this also includes health supervision per vision as well as t those ose who were ill 76 field visits and office visits were made 49 preschool ol 01 children were given their physical examinations before entering the schools last year during the year 1233 children were inspected at school by the public health nurse those needing I 1 exclusion were referred to their I 1 family physician for medical care i there word were 71 admitted to the i nursing service and 38 home visits were made children were given vision tests using the snellen chart those having defects I 1 were referred to an oculist and 25 classroom health talks were given on a subject pertaining to health education A total of cases were admitted to the morbidity nursing ser service vice and field visits were made two health talks were given to adult groups two crippled childrens clinics were held helfand hel dand tand 62 children attended those wishing an appointment for the next crippled childrens clinic to be held in may should see their family physician for referral and the local public health nurse for an application at least by mid april cases admitted to the nursing service were 17 and a total of 16 field visits were made avine field visits were made for phe itne venereal disease nursing service ice fathis district has been without a sanitarian a atarian for the past several months but a new sanitarian will soon be in this area problems may be referred to the local public health nurse who will forward them to the district health office immunization clinics were held in the spring and immunizations were completed for typhoid rocky mountain spotted fever tick and for smallpox i parents are urged by dr A A jenkins director division of demi to have their children immunized for diphtheria if they have never been or a booster dose given if necessary |
