Show OURI OUR ana men se IN note the following letter was wa s received by mr and mrs art holt from their nephew marion purcell and will be of interest to those who were his school mates during the time the purcell family lived here and marion attended the monticello school dearest uncle arthur and aunt mabel I 1 thought I 1 would drop you a line and see if you still remember me it has been a long time since we have been together it it has all passed pretty fast except the last year it has gone awfully slow I 1 never get very much news about what is going on out there occasionally the folks will say something about it but not very often I 1 have intended to write you all for a long time but have been so busy moving that I 1 have not had the time until now I 1 have traveled quite a bit and have seen some very pretty country and a lot that raise sheep but I 1 really believe this is the worst camp I 1 have been in please answer real soon andrell and tell me all the news lots of love marion loile bailey promoted lt loile bailey brought his wife life and young son to monticello last thursday for a visit with the home folks he has been promoted from the rank of ju junior nir grade lieutenant and bears the full title now lt bailey has been reassigned to serve in the san diego district following his furlough w which ich will end in about two weeks word received from mrs max bailey indicates that her husband will be confined to the hospital in seattle for at least two months during which time she will remain at that point too she has taken a position as nurses aide which w h i C h will serve the double purpose of keeping her busy and allowing her to be near max during his convalescence les cence tuesday of last week clyde jensen returned home on furlough and has spent the week visiting his parents mr and mrs fred Y jensen and with his wife and family in blanding monday evening he returned to camp roberts accompanied by his wife mr jensen is expecting orders for overseas in the event that he leaves the states soon mrs jensen w will i 11 return at once buster eagleburger is home enjoying a visit with home folks and friends he looks hale and hearty after at least two years of service in the navy and it is nice to see him around town again pac elmo redd left yesterday to report back for duty after an enjoyable visit with his family and friends we like to tell you of th the e arrival of some of our fine young men although we do not always meet them while here some come to the office to say hello and others we chance to meet while going our rounds for news but we would very much appreciate hearing from the families of those we do not contact in order not to miss any who are home bome on furlough |
