Show loc lockerby kerby special correspondence A fine baby boy came to brighten brightell the travest johnson home friday the dr bayles and mrs elanor el anor guymon of blanding mrs frank wilkins and travest trav at were in attendance mrs george barton is caring for oral and the family the baby will be named barton keele the mother and father are recuperating nicely A group of people met as a surprise at the home of the trees and barbers tuesday night there before a huge bonfire they had a delightful time roasting corn in the coals and eating it along with sandwiches cookies and watermelon some of the melons were from julius harveys dryland dry land patch and they were fine too it was late when someone remembered that time was passing so the singing ceased with all of the other fun and farewells were said to the trees barbes and who left for salt lake last week we will miss these people in many ways in our community especially the fine things they did in our church services sunday morning mgt cloyd johnson arrived home he has been in most all the major battles i of the south pacific without being harmed but has seen the hardships of a stern fighting soldier his company was preparing to leave for tokyo when they received word that the war was about over he was released but some of the company went on and i they were the che group which found tojo we are glad that he be is re 1 leased permanently it is good to see af pf pac c robert howell back home for a few weeks I 1 after being in the service for about two years robert spent most of his time in england and germany he saw many interesting and sad sights and is happy to be home among friends addison arment and family and homer vance and family drove to mceldo valley sunday and brot back some fine fruit the group at church gets smaller every sunday but a fine spirit still exists we are glad that we still have stephen meyer to lead the singing and teach the adult sunday school class we are also glad that mr and nd mrs frank wilkins are yet with us and can take active parts in sunday school and relief society speakers in sacrament meeting sunday were L J bartell who spoke on temperance temp eranee and mgt cloyd johnson who most interestingly es told some of his experiences in the service there will be no service next sunday the as quarterly conference will be held in monticello word has been received from edward J bartell that he be has been transferred from the admiralty islands to the philippines he has no promise of a furlough yet |
