Show EVENTFUL TIMES the usual number of rumors nors contradictions and seemingly false reports are tilling filling the papers and are being given over the radio these days to an anxious people and it is difficult indeed to come to a definite conclusion concerning the things we read or hear one thin thing 1 is certain however and that is the collapse of germany as result of the linking up of the allied armies in the north and south of that bewildered wil dered country the people of germany are bewildered these days if reports of wholesale surrender are true and although fighting in some sections was fanatical fanatic aland and may continue even with the declaration of peace it is now over for most of the men in the armed forces of the allied nations and for this news we must be grateful what coming days and weeks will unfold will go down in history as the most eventful happenings of all times not only that which will be recorded concerning the end of hostilities in europe but the accomplishments or otherwise during the historic meeting in san francisco although conflicting reports are now being broadcast eventually we will know the truth band and in the meantime it is unwise to speculate or to offer comment concerning these times or the reports we read or hear bear via radio with the formal announcement of VE V E day there should be only a feeling of gratitude that one of warfare has come to an end and that which will follow within the borders of our own land will but mark the way for the more complete fulfillment of prophecy which in turn will convince the most skeptical persons that the end of the old order is in progress in all fullness of the word with three of the so called world leaders passed into the beyond it also proves that another form of prediction has been fulfilled and with still greater problems to be solved by those who remain and our own new leader can anyone deny that the kind of peace we hope for is still a long way off eventful times indeed and while the truth of all proceedings ce may not be revealed at once it is certain that when it is made known the optimism that some folks feel concerning the immediate or more distant future will be undermined we now face a still greater testing time but as in all times past we can and will meet it since americans are built that way the happiness or misery which we experience here are not forced upon us by some arbitrary power called providence they are the inevitable results of our own thoughts and deeds we must reap what we have sown no one can give us what we do not deserve nor can anyone keep from us the blessing we have earned earn ed H humanity ii manity alag magazine agazine i |
