| Show SCHOOL BOARD HOLDS REGULAR MEETING the regular monthly meeting of the school board of san juan county school district was held monday with all members present also in attendance were supt bupt zenos L black and clerk george M palmer in addition to routine business the following action was taken 1 to accept the school calendar for the school year of 1944 45 as presented by supt bupt black as follows opening sept 4 1944 utah educational association conference nov 23 2 3 thanksgiving day vacation nov 2324 23 24 christmas vacation dec 23 until jan 2 1945 end en d of first emester jan 12 beginning of sec second and semester jan 15 school closes may 18 2 1 to authorize clement johnson mrs leah bartell and travest johnson to use the lockerby school house for community activities they to be held responsible for any breakage supt bupt black reported that he had 14 teachers signed up but that 18 more are needed only two teachers have been secured for the high schools one for monticello and one for blanding and no teachers for schools elsewhere there is promise of one for la sal however and a possibility of securing several local teachers who would serve in this emergency supt bupt black left early yesterday morning for another trip to salt lake city to make one last effort to obtain more ta echers ile he would also like to receive information or suggestions from anyone who may know of any available teachers 50 so that he be may get in touch with them |
