Show 9 permits necessary to graze horses the interior department graz ing service has issued notice that the federal range in all grazing districts established under the beylor grazing act as amended will be closed 0 0 the grazing glazing of horses between march and march 1 1945 except 1 horses lawfully grazing thereon under valid license or permit 2 horses used as riding pack and draft animals in connection with lawful livestock operations 3 horses used by persons lawfully traveling over such lands individuals partnerships or corporations po rations owning or claiming unlicensed or horses anning i at large on the federal range or horses not used as pack saddle or draft animals in connection with lawful livestock operations have been notified in official publications to remove such horses from the federal range in an order by the acting secretary of cf the interior dated feb 41 4 1944 the federal range was closed to i the tha grazing of horses with the above exceptions from sept 1 1943 to march 1 1944 and in the various districts under the jurisdiction of the grazing service many thousands of trespass ng and useless horses were removed from the range however since there are still large numbers of such horses grazing at large on the range in all of the districts consuming forage vitally needed for domestic livestock injuring the range in many respects and in erasing the cost of range administration it was considered nc s sary 0 to o continue to have the federal range closed to such horses for another year |
