| Show A WORLD AT WAR can there be any doubt now in the minds of people that the predictions in matthew 24 are rapidly being fulfilled on other occasions we have referred to this prophetic chapter and again we call attention to certain verses as for example for nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom and there shall be famines and pestilences ti and earthquakes in divers places all these are the beginning of sorrows matthew 2478 8 in times past when we have mentioned these verses some have said but we have always had these things t quite true but when has it ever happened that all countries were involved in warfare as they are now and when has our nation ever been involved to such extent as is now in in evi evidence consider also these words all these things are the beginning of sorrows keep also in mind the verse which reads and then shall many be offended and shall betray one another and shall hate one another was there ever a time when so much treachery hatred and strife among nations and among families prevailed than now division of thought in regard to politics and religion between members of families disagreement on these and other subjects which affect the home life have reached such point that it is almost impossible to find a family group in full accord and so the unrest and strife continues and multiplies and extends itself to community life and to national affairs further along in this chapter is the reference to the abomination of desolation spoken of in daniel at which I 1 time is the warning given to flee into the mountains we suggest reading the book of daniel and especially the alth and chapters wherein so much is said about the time of the end read also ezekiel 38 nad 39 we firmly believe that during the three or four years ahead we shall be given to see these things happen and then as written in the verse of matthew 24 immediately after the tribulations of those days shall the sun be darkened and the moon shall not give her light and the stars shall fall from heaven and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken there could be and there are many interpretations of this and of the remaining verses of this important chapter and only time will prove the correctness of opinion the point we would make now is that we ARE very close to the time of the end and each one must do his own thinking on the prophecies written in the old or the new testament and on the many predictions of these modern times whether we belive it or not it is far better to try to do something constructive in preparation for the new age now and to help those who are awake to the times in in which we now live and who dot doi believe that the end of the old order is upon us in keeping with this idea we wish to call attention to some very potent references in letters received from an upstate mormon friend one who is fully aware of the need to live according to what he calls the law of equality and to establish operative cooperative co colonies such as we and others are attempting to do in the july issue of the home of truth message we shall quote from these letters because SQ so much therein is in absolute agreement with things we have been talking about for years the important thing to consider is the fact that this mormon friend is extending a warning to the mormon people as well and has asked us to emphasize the importance of teaching equality and cooperation and brotherly love which he claims the mormon leaders have failed to do he also claims that the judgments are upon us when many shall fall and that we will not have long to wait for the new dispensation he and some of his friends who know what is ahead are apparently not well received when they try to bring understanding of these things A very important reference to the time of tribulation may well be included because it has bearing on the biblical prophecy mentioned above behold you say we are in trouble now we are at war and our sons are facing the enemy enemy yea but this war shall cease suddenly and then there shall be a time of trouble TROUBLE such as men have never seen or dreamed possible a time of trouble that shall grow s seemingly ein from nothing into a whirlwind of death and disaster civil strife and anarchy I 1 look for things to happen fast from now on and so do we but let us not lose heart rather let us band together in greater numbers to help each other and to prepare for the day when our good woks boks will stand forth 1 as worthy of the name so shall we not be found wanting when the day of judgment comes we also call attention to the article on this page by rev howard parry who is also awake to the need to work together in closer contact in a operative cooperative co way |
