Show home of truth by MARIE M OGDEN 0 the valley seemed almost deserted when we returned for an overnight stay on friday since the men folks remain in town until saturday of each week to put in an extra day of work in the new area east of town they are making fine progress there and also in each of the town gardens margaret and letitia left on friday for a weekend week end trip to durango colorado we are looking forward to the arrival of another idaho friend who will come with her two children to make their home with us she is waiting for the van to move their things and expected to come last week marian deaton and son wallace spent sunday in the valley john brown goes back with the men each saturday afternoon for the overnight stay incidentally his description of our chapel service will likely be of interest to some of our distant friends who sometimes ask what form of worship we have adopted wallace was made happy this week when he received an enve lope from florida with 24 letters written to him by members of his class it seems that he be wrote to his former teacher who read the letter to the class which in turn decided to make individual reply quite a thrill for a fifth grade bo boy to be the recipient of so many letters at one time As we go 90 to press we received the following report from david in in regard to the work accoe A in the new farm area we now have 16 acres of barley planted 5 acres of corn 2 acres of potatoes ai acre of sweet corn I 1 acre or more of garden truck of all sorts our 10 acres of winter wheat planted last fall looks loks fine we are experimenting with some edible soy beans vetch milo maize and different kinds of beans sent to us by our friends we will also put in a large acreage of i pinto beans |
