| Show TOURIST BUSINESS TO i BE emphasized V A statement from the department of publicity and industrial I 1 development in the state indicates that an effort is being made to attract tourists to utah and to 0 keep them informed of the scenic beauty and other advantages of this I 1 intermountain riter mountain state we have long since believed that with a little more eff effort ort and cooperation on the part of the merchants to support an advertising campaign which would emphasize ahe he attractions in southeastern utah there would be a steady in now of tourists and an increase of trade for them according to commissioner H J plumhof of the slate department of publicity and indus rial development a program to develop the states tourist business is under consideration almost everyone knows something of our states highly publicized tourist attractions the temples great salt lake and bryce and zion national parks but we have untold wealth in all parts of the state which we mean to bring before the traveling pub lie lic mr plumhof said i it was pointed out that every county in utah has much to offer in magnificent scenery pioneer lore outdoor life or other unusual attractions these many offerings mr plumhof said need only to tb be brought to the attention of the to make utah utah a place to go to rather than a place to go through the department is gathering data and photographs on all undeveloped tourist attractions in the state and hopes through cooperation ope tation with local coun county ty and federal officials to bring these regions to the attention of the nations with the view of prolonging their visit in utah |
