Show relief work Is progressing 0 I 1 A report from the chairman of volunteer relief work for the american red cross indicates that much fine work is being accomplished complis hed lied throughout san juan county and that the second assignment sign ment of work will be completed before the end of the month mrs may cooper and the writer made a trip to banding yesterday and en route we were told of the he assortment of knitted artiz articles les and other garments she has placed in the hands of competent and willing workers in order that she may send her allotment of required articles to headquarters early in january in blanding we called on mrs corrie perkins who is acting as local chairman and saw some of the finished dresses which have been returned to her mrs cooper also called on mrs hattie barton who is in charge of alie knitted things and on miss barton at the high school to check up on the layettes lay ettes being made by the girls who are members of junior red cross and who have assumed the responsibility of completing this part of the work taken to blanding several weeks ago mrs cooper is well pleased and we are both grateful to the women throughout the county who are spending their time now in completion of the articles which in turn will bring comfort and happiness to those who will receive them in the war stricken countries of europe we also call your attention to the story of the origin of the american ameri can red cress as critton by one of our workers coworkers co and which you will fina on page four let us all pull together in this great humanitarian work and continue our good works in this hour of great reed for ali e who are calling to us for help |
