Show deer hunting on blue mountains light this season in a statement regarding the recent deer season in monticello Montice forest ranger ralph jensen declared this year to be ba the lightest yet seen since only about 52 per cent of the hunters brought in in a deer mr jensen further stated that approximately hunters tried their skill and of this number about 95 were successful in getting their deer this makes about a 52 per cent kill which in relation to reports from other sections of the state where the kill was from 65 to 85 per cent is a light kill this is probably the smallest kill for this section of the country for the past several years the natural conditions made for difficult hunting the bucks after the first day or so sought the pines and the rocky canyons for protection also during the season the nights were moonlit and no doubt the deer did most of their feeding during the night and were doing very little moving during the day |
