| Show our weekly chat at M 0 there is nothing new to add in regard to our personal affairs and little more concerning our personal progress except that we made our first visit to monticello since the early part of october we started out on friday morning with david as chauffeur again stopping at the peters springs farm to confer with mrs pipkin who has been a tenant there during past months and to see the new arrival at the ross purcell home this little baby girl by the way is a tiny little mite but it is very evident that what she may lack in in size size is more than th an made up in the love she has brought with her it was a real joy to hold her for f or a few moments and to talk with her father and mother about her how we know how much she means to this household in town we met many of our friends and needless to say we ampre appreciate chate the many kind KILI u wishes extended by those whom we contacted during the day one reason for the trip on that day clay was to keep an appointment with dr cohn who is in monticello to take care of his patients there and who performed a splendid piece of work for our daughter extracting fourteen teeth for her in the early afternoon and so another member of the family is temporarily indisposed but is recovering nicely from the trying experience we reached home late in the i afternoon grateful for the accomplishments ments of the day speaking of accomplishments there is something else to recall in regard to our first visit to another home here one day last week we walked as far as mary camerons cabin our closest neighbor who lives some yards distant it was lovely to sit on her porch for a short rest before the return trip was made which reminds us to say that mary has been working extra hard over the weekend week end with a patient to watch over at each end of our camp until the after effects of the dental operation wear off and our daughter is able to resume her regular duties on saturday morning we were pleasantly surprised when mayor kenneth summers and mr john perkins of monticello paid us a short call as they went through the valley in the afternoon our family met for the usual study period we mentioned several weeks ago and again on sunday morning when we enjoyed our usual morning service the weather continues fine with the exception of one stormy day last week and the sunshine of this period of beautiful fall weather is something to remember and to be grateful for the nights are cold and because of the shorter days we know that the winter period is approaching As long as the fine weather continues we expect to be in monticello on wednesday or thursday of each week and may be reached at the record office between the hours of 1000 a in and p in in closing may we also send 1 word of appreciation to distant friends who continue to write concerning our recent experience we have heard from many friends who had not written in many months and on the other hand there are a few onetime one time friends we hoped to hear from who still keep in touch through the paper it hast been very interesting to note the comments concerning our mishap although this is not the time or place to discuss them au revoir for another week |
