Show home of truth news by maric alarie al ogden director our message this week will include word about the weather and something about our plans forthe for the future in regard to a trip back east As we read about the storms in many parts of the country we are more appreciative than ever of our own fine climate and the prevailing conditions which are so in c ast to the dangers of flood mf fc snow slides which take their ff yf now li life e and property damage in id so many ways and places another snowstorm last week covered our desert with a blanket of white altho it di disappears sap pears so quickly that it causes little or no inconvenience such as we encountered last year at this time monticello has also received a goodly share of snow just when the roads were drying from the previous accumulation the mountains toward the south and the la toward the north are a beautiful sight with their snow topped peaks and streamers of white that run almost to the base in many places one of our monticello friends chides us for our belief that this part of the country will one day become fitted for the growing of semitropical semi tropical fruits but we hold f t to 0 this prediction as we do ah ers we make concerning 6 changing times with many freak weather conditions and the gradual changes under way we may expect almost anything to happen within the next few years on one of the most beautiful of days last week we were pleased to welcome as visitors three prominent members of the catholic f faith aith who were on their way back to their respective home centers father rouell from price utah bishop hunt from salt lake city and father mcgarity from portland oregon they were returning from a visit to monticello and blanding where special services were held for their followers and at the camp speaking of travel reminds us to speak of our intended journey in the near or more distant future in accordance with plans in the making we have always felt that it would be necessary to make another trip to our eastern home and intermediate places and it would seem that the time is drawing close for such journey it may be next month if circumstance cum stance and finances will permit otherwise we will postpone it until the late summer or fall months but with the idea taking form now there is more likelihood of starting out very soon in in which case we would like to hear from our distant friends since it is impossible to get in touch thru personal correspondence unless you write immediately if you wish to be included as we plan for stopover stop over in various cities en route A letter addressed to moab utah from which point we receive say mail w will ill insure prompt re und nd alil g give i ve information where rich us in milwaukee buffalo and Newark N J to which three cities we will have mail forwarded there may also be stopover stop over in chicago and several other midwest cities the trip will be like others we made in 1933 as we travelled from east to west and we hope to meet many of the one time associates who gather at appointed centers as well as some of the key persons ir in i several cities who are giving much m uch time and thought to spiritual work such as we are engaged in doing which also reminds us to say that sometimes lette letters rs go astray and nd our only way of tracing them thern is is for the sender to write a sec ond time if reply does not reach promptly espe especially bally if your tare pertains to business affairs trying to trace one such letter written to a california 1 I friend in the middle midd ae of january which apparently failed to reach the person to whon whom it was ad dr essed and who wrote again ask why reply was not made more promptly A few of our christmas letters are still unanswered but otherwise every piece of mail received is r replied e p lied 1 to 0 within a week or ten days day s and more often within a day or two because our mail is delivered and collected daily even tho we are a long distance from the city post office this speaks well for the rural route mail carrier who makes his trip no matter what the weather may be may we therefore take this means of letting our california friend know that a second letter went forth as qu quickly bickly as we heard of the failure 0 of f the first one to arrive and th the e same will occur if we are notified if others do not receive reply within a reasonable time we e w will 11 ke keep ep you informed of our ip plans lari thru this column and as quickly as we are sure of starting on the journey eastward we will have more to say about the pl plan an and the purpose of it it w will i 11 be necessary to make return to this point by april to keep an important engagement inmon in monticello tice ti so unless the trip is made next month I 1 it t will likely be post 1 boned until fall when our summer work is finished |
