Show county boards given voice in S U civic clubs members of the associated civic clubs of southern utah residing in each county will in the future have three representatives instead of two on the board of directors according to a new plan of organization announced by president james M sargent this week in the past members of the association residing in each county have selected two of their number to represent them on the board they will continue this pra practise 1 crize and in addition each county commission will also h have ave a vote the same as a director the change was made through an amendment to the organizations constitution it will not be necessary for the commissioners to select one of their number as their official representative says president sargent the commissioners will all be welcome to attend the directors meetings and may cast their vote as they see fit either one mem member ber together or one third each the new plan is expected to be beneficial to the entire territory and was made in the interests of creating a better understanding of problems and closer co opera tion A more effective organization should result directors from san juan county for 1939 in addition to the commission will be george M palmer of monticello and vernon C rowley of blanding members are invited to contact either of the directors relative to problems or projects they wish the associated civic clubs to consider plans for the 1939 program will be furthered at the next meeting of the group which has tentatively been set for december 17 at st george in the interest interests inter estl of working out a cooperative advertising plan representatives from southern nevada and southern california are expected to attend this meeting |
