| Show two boys drown in dolores river swimming hole As the sentinel goes to press I 1 W wednesday ednes day evening word is received of the drowning of atwol two dolores boys in the dolores Dolore river three fourths of a mile below the ritter steel lieeel bridge in what is known as a three rocks swimming hole the boys who met tragic deaths are dave waters 12 and joe sutton 13 glenn smith 13 attempted to rescue the boys but failed and went for help the boys were drowned about 0 and the bodies were not recovered d for more than hour later i 1 according to meagre reports the three boys were wading across the swimming hole which is some feet in size sutton went beyond his depth and called for 1 help waters lunged p ung edin in to ic save him but was grasped by the sutton boy ar and A actually i drowned before the lad he went i 1 in in to save young smith made I 1 valiant efforts to save both the boys but seeing they would drown him too ran for help though several farmers were close by none could swim and help bouldi could not be rea reached clied nearer than dolores tim jones and his son were the men who brought the bodies out of the hole calledo the ertel ambulance was called I and moved the bodies to cortez where they are being held pending funeral arrangements sid wilmarth in the absence of county coroner J W ertel and deputy coroner E E johnson questioned the surviving boy and the men who effected the rescues his findings were as reported above |
