Show CIVIC CLUBS TO MEET AT i monticello MONTICELL 01 news and views official publication of A C C of southern utah says the blue mountain civic club of monticello and other san juan county organizations are making elaborate plans for the meeting of the associated civic clubs of southern utah which will be held there on august 20 and 21 K S summers secretary of the san juan club is in charge of arrangements and is planning se several veral tours of the surrounding territory in connection with the business sessions As usual the executive board will meet at 10 am and the members and directors at p in president james M sargent will preside at both sessions later in the day a banquet and dance are planned in order to become better acquainted quain ted with the people of western colorado special invitations are being sent to the various chambers of commerce and civic clubs of the area with the gradual improvement of the highways connecting the two states the e exchange x of out of state visitors may be furthered through this acquaintance state stale officials and members of the utah congressional delegation will also be invited august is an ideal month in in which to visit the attractions of southern utah and for that tha treason reason it is expected that many members of the associated civic clubs will spend several days in and around monticello at the time of the meeting many no doubt will visit the natural bridges national monument goose necks of the san juan river monument Vall valley eythe the navajo indian reservation and return via the navajo bridge formerly lees ferry to assist in providing hotel accommodations for the visitors it has been requested that reservations be made adde by writing mr I 1 summers at monticello in advance of the meeting dates he assures everyone of satisfactory accommodations even though the facilities aties are limited |
